In my last post I talked about audacious goals and while I am no Ashton Kutcher with millions of followers stemming from a competition with CNN, I want to try to reach a certain number of followers on Twitter.

Like Mr. Kutcher I want to see if I can reach a target.  I am not trying to reach millions.  I will settle for thousands.  Call it a social media project with a social benefit.  I want to reach at least 5000 followers by August 2, 2009.  That’s 5000 in five days.  I have a little over 1400 now so that is 3600 remaining which means 720 new followers per day or 30 new followers per hour on average.

If I reach the goal, and even if I don’t, I will make donations to the Geneva Centre for Autism and Angel Hair for Kids.  I don’t have Mr. Kutcher’s bank account so my donations will not be in the same league as the ones he made for mosquito netting but I will be making donations nonetheless.  I will also be checking with some of the corporate sponsors to see if they will kick something in as things progress.

You can follow me here on Twitter and this blog will also show a feed of my progress.  Thanks in advance for your support.  Wish me luck and keep checking in to see my progress.
